There is a bounty of recreational opportunities in and around Broadview Heights.
Beautiful Parks for Picnics, Hiking, Horse Back Riding, in Broadview Heights we have The Cleveland Metro Parks, founded in 1917, and is the oldest park system in Ohio. It encompasses 20,000 acres of parkland and run from the mouth of the Rocky River to the outside of Chagrin Falls. Together this chain of interconnected parkway forms what is known as the “Emerald Necklace” and it is Broadview Heights great good fortune to be one of the gems on that necklace. These natural state parklands contain
an abundance of recreational venues - 20 miles of walking, jogging and bicycling paths, cross country and down-hill skiing, horse back riding trails and two boarding stables, picnicking, swimming and more. There are special events and educational programs including nature walks, family days, film and an annual fall clambake. Last but not least Broadview Height has two of the six golf courses within a 10 minute drive, which, together offer 63 holes, of sporting pleasure.
Broadview Heights is only minutes away from the “Cuyahoga Valley National Park", the winding Cuyahoga River-the “crooked river" as named by local Native Americans, gives way to rolling land, steep valley walls and ravines, and lush upland forests. Cuyahoga Valley National Park provides an environment for over 900 species of flora and fauna as well as a natural habitat for numerous species of birds, fish, mammals, amphibians and reptiles.
